Delicate Forest Meets Meandering Meadows Meets Paper Pumpkin for As You See It Challenge #318

df meets mm meets pp for aysi #319 1

It's time for another As You See It challenge! Those two weeks seem to fly by!  This time it's a theme challenge and the theme is Easter, thanks to team member Joanne! She is thinking ahead, and a good thing, since Easter is early this year, at the end of March! I had to think about this theme, as my Easter stash is pretty lean. I got creative and used the stamp set that came with my latest Paper Pumpkin kit, and married it with some Meandering Meadows DSP for a backdrop and the Delicate Forest Dies for a frame. I also decided to do some good old paper piecing on the bunny, chick and eggs using paper from the Lighter Than Air DSP. Here's the challenge banner:

Here's a closer look at my project:

  • On a regular 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base of thick Basic White cardstock, I adhered the same size piece of Meandering Meadows DSP that you see in the photo.
  • I took a piece of Basic White measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and die cut the arch from the Delicate Forest dies, making the arch a little to the right to match the path on the Meandering Meadows DSP. I added it to the card front using Dimensionals to pop it up, adding more depth to the card.
  • From the Sweet Springtime, Feb. 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit, I used the bunny and the chick stamps to stamp the images in Memento ink on Basic White cardstock and again on chosen Lighter Than Air DSP.
  • I fussy cut the images on the DSP and adhered them onto the images on the Basic White. For the bunny, I didn't include the tail and for the chick I cut off the beak and the legs so they would show up white on the Basic White image. For the bunny's tail, I left it white, but I coloured in the chick's beak and legs with Stampin' Blends Light Pumpkin Pie.
  • Then I fussy cut the whole images from the Basic white and added them to the card front. I used glue dots for the chick and Mini Dimensionals for the bunny, again for depth.
  • The egg images are from the Easter Bunny stamp set. I used the same process to paper piece them with paper from the Lighter Than Air DSP and added them to the card front as well.
  • The sentiment is from the Paper Pumpkin stamp set and is die cut with a banner die from the Delicate Forest dies. It's adhered with dimensionals and a Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dot is added as well as a bow made with the Baker's Twine Three Colour Pack.

Each month, Stampin' Up! adds two new kits to the kits collection online. These two kits are the new kits for February, which is almost over, but I wanted to let you know about them anyway. There will be two new ones for March!

  1. What a clever combination of products! The delicate die cut window creates a perfect frame for the Easter scene and the fact you've used white for it stops it being too busy. Lovely idea!

    1. Thanks, Jan! I admit I was a bit stumped about what to do for this theme.
