Latte Love for As You See It Challenge #320

latte love for aysi #320 1

It's a new challenge week with As You See It Challenges and this time it's a sketch challenge designed by team member, Jan! I am currently in love with the Latte Love bundle, in fact with the whole A Little Latte suite, and I needed to make a birthday card for my hubby, who LOVES coffee, so all those happy circumstances coincided to help me create my card for Challenge #320 - Balancing Act!

Here's the Challenge Banner:

I put the amazing DSP in A Little Latte to good use in my card, even using it for the focal point mug. Let's take a closer look:

  • On a Pecan Pie card base, I added a matte layer of 4" x 5 1/4" over which I placed a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of the A Little Latte DSP. Before adding it, I embossed the sentiment, from Sweetly Scripted, in white embossing powder, about 5/8" from the bottom edge.
  • I cut two other pieces of different designs of the same DSP set, one measuring 1" x 3" and the orange one measuring 1" x  3 3/8". These are mounted on the card front as shown with the white one centered on and slightly higher than the orange one.
  • I die cut one of the Calypso Coral mugs from the DSP sheets and then die cut the center out. I glued down the center, then mounted the mug part around it using Mini-Dimensionals. I used a sponge dauber to add some Early Espresso ink to the cut edge.
  • The sentiment, from Latte Love, was stamped in Pecan Pie on Basic White cardstock and die cut using the smallest Deckled Rectangle die, and manipulating it to make a smaller label. That label is added using with dimensionals.
  • Last step is adding some Adhesive backed Swirl dots.

  • On the inside of the card, I used the largest Deckled Rectangle die to cut some of the DSP from A Little Latte for a backing, and one about 2 sizes smaller to cut one for the sentiment.
  • I stamped the sentiment from the Stippled Roses stamp set, and a splotch from Latte Love, both in Early Espresso ink, as shown.
  • Both panels were adhered using Stampin' Seal.

  1. Snap on the falling in love with Latte Love bundle! I didn't expect it at all! I like the way you've used the cup as the circular element and double matted the panel so it stands out.
