Merry and Thank You with Seasonally Scattered

Yesterday was my marathon Christmas shopping day, but I needed to combine that with some product deliveries.  And before I could leave, I needed to make some thank-you cards to include with the orders.  My Quick and Cute ideas here are easy for you to make, and more importantly, duplicate! I used the Thanks and the Merry images from Seasonally Scattered for the heat embossed centers.

I had a very productive shopping day and I'm almost done my shopping except for the stocking stuffers, which I find the most fun to buy and give, usually neat little gadgets and puzzles! With my grandkids more aware of Christmas and excited about the presents, I'm afraid I may have done some spoiling, but I haven't had that much fun in forever!

Just before I left the house, my doorbell rang and it was my Man in Brown (Mr. UPS) with another order delivery.  Because one of my customers to whom I was planning on delivering a small order yesterday had some more product in the recently arrived box, I opened up the container to find this....

A GLITTER ERUPTION!!!!
Oh, my goodness!!  There was glitter everywhere!  A package of silver glitter had been broken en route and had vomited glitter all through the box!!

I had no time to clean it up then, so I have a big job ahead of me today!  In the meantime, there is glitter all over my Craft Cave!  It's in the carpet, on my chair, on my clothes, in my hair, on my face!

I apologize to my customers.  As hard as you try to clean it all up, it is pervasive.  I'm sure you'll find some festive joy scattered somewhere in your order.

You should know that Stampin' Up! is very good about replacing faulty goods and will be sending the customer who ordered the Silver Glitter another package ASAP straight to her door.

  • For these Thank You and Greeting Cards, I used the Notecards and Envelopes which come together in a package of 20 cards and envelopes.  At 3 1/2" x 5", they are just the right size for little expressions of thanks and festive greetings and they come in Whisper White and Crumb Cake..
  • The design is simple but attractive and very easy to put together.  All the panels are 5" long so they can simply be matched up with the ends of the cards, which makes getting them straight so much easier.
  • Both sentiments from the Seasonally Scattered stamp set were heat embossed with coloured embossing powder, Cherry Cobbler for the Thank You card and Pool Party for the Merry card.
New weekly deals for this week until December 15:

Preparing for Parties!

Today I am hosting a Stamp Club Member's Appreciation event. I'm so excited about it! I have been working hard to prepare for the party. In fact, preparing for parties is something I really enjoy. I'm not an extrovert by any stretch of the imagination, and I sometimes find attending parties difficult, but, on the other hand, preparing for them is so much fun!!

I don't want to spill all the beans here, because I'm sure someone from my Stamp Club will be reading this today, but here's a sneak peek of some of the party decor and treats and I'll post a more complete look at it all tomorrow after the party is over!

How would these look on your Christmas tablescape as place cards?  How about office treats for your coworkers, or Christmas goodies for your child's friends?  Is your imagination going strong?  Let me know and I will order you one!

And just because it's cute and I like clever ideas, let me share a piece of original, creative festive entertainment for the masses:

Winter Joy for The Paper Players and The Colour Throwdown

I really enjoyed making this card for The Paper Players Challenge #223 and The Colour Throwdown Swatch Challenge #320. It kind of exudes a quiet Joy! The best kind, in my humble opinion. This could be a Christmas card, but it could also be a winter all occasion or birthday card, any occasion that merits joy! I've been wanting to use the word framelits from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits for a long time now. This was the perfect layout for it.

And I've been loving the Soft Sky, Real Red and Whisper White palette, so adding some Crumb Cake was a natural.

  • On the Crumb Cake card base, I added a background panel of All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper in Soft Sky. On to that, I added a small panel of some Nordic Noel DSP backed by Real Red cardstock.
  • I added a 1" wide piece of Red Glimmer paper to the top for some pizzazz, under which I placed two flags, one in Soft Sky and one in Real Red.
  • I used the "Joy" Framelit and cut one out in Soft Sky cardstock and one in Crumb Cake. When using these Thinlits or Framelits, be sure to place some waxed paper between the cardstock and the die.  It makes removing the cardstock from them so much easier!  I glued the Soft Sky Joy to the Crumb Cake Joy, offsetting them a bit for a shadow effect and so that the word would show up better on the Soft Sky background. The 2 Way Glue Pen is fabulous for gluing these thin lines on something. It works just like a pen. I used glue dots to attach it to the card,
  • A Neutral Designer button with a little bow made from Soft Sky 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon is the perfect finishing touch. I tied the bow and then used a glue dot to attach it to the button rather than threading it through.  Glue dots are very effective in adhering something like the button to the Red Glimmer Paper.
