Beat the Clock in Shades of Pink for As You See It Challenges

I woke up yesterday morning with a free-floating sense of anxiety. There was no apparent cause, just a general sense that all was not right with the world. I hate that feeling because it is so hard to convince my body that nothing is wrong and that it can stop reacting like the zombie apocalypse is about to take place. When I set out to create my blog post for the day, I suddenly realized that there was a darn good reason for the anxiety attack! The theme for today's new As You See It Challenge is Speed Stamping again (this time in shades of pink), and you know I do not do well with that!

You'd think I'd be used to it by now, wouldn't you? Anyway, I bucked up, gathered my courage and my supplies and hit the timer!

Nine minutes and fifty-four seconds later (just under the 10 minute limit), I came up with this:

  • I got out my Best Thoughts (Host) Stamp set because it's one of those stamps that gives a showy image without a lot of work. I stamped the flowers in Melon Mambo and the stem and leaves in Pear Pizzazz. I didn't bother to mask because it would take up too much time and I like the way the petals blend into the leaves.
  • The background chevron designs in Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride came from an image in Work of Art Stamp set. I stamped them very lightly for just a little background design.
  • The butterfly is stamped on Whisper White with Melon Mambo and hand snipped (quickly)! I added the Blushing Bride ink just by stamping the ink pad directly to the paper. It didn't matter that it coloured a lot of the paper outside the image, too, because I hand snipped the butterfly and it wouldn't show.
  • I added a little fancy bling with the Venetian Crochet Trim and some of the new Blushing Bride Sequin Trim.  If I had had more time I might have glued on some individual sequins. The sentiment is also from Best Thoughts!
Why not give this a try over the next couple of days and enter the Challenge? After all it will only take you 10 minutes! I'm dying to see what you come up with!  Have a great weekend!
