Frosty Speedy Shades of Blue for As You See It Challenges

We have come around again to the dreaded Speed Stamping Challenge at As You See It Challenges, but you know what? The more we do them, the less I dread them! In fact, I think I can say now that I have faced my fear and conquered it! I have looked fear in the face and stared it down! I laugh at Speed Stamping Challenges now! "A-ha-ha-ha-HA!!!" I am INVINCIBLE!!!

Okay, well maybe I'm getting a bit carried away, but I did actually complete my card in 6 minutes and 47 seconds, which is a new record for me! So I really feel like I nailed it! And the card isn't too hard on the eyes!

Here's the As You See It Challenge #212 Banner:

Here's a closer look at my masterpiece of simplicity and speed 😉:

  • After planning my card and getting out my supplies, the first thing I did was cut my Night of Navy cardstock in half to make my card base.
  • I cut my Feels Like Frost DSP to 4" x 5 1/4"  and then die cut my deer from the Detailed Deer Dies. I also die cut my sentiment from the Jolly Season Dies. Both of those were die cut from Night of Navy cardstock.
  • I then assembled the card, adhering the DSP to the cardbase and adding Liquid Multipurpose Glue to the deer and the sentiment and gluing them both at an angle to the card front.
  • I finished it off with some Glitter Enamel Dots that were retired from last year.
  • I was tempted to add some ribbon or sequins or something else, but I resisted the urge and finished in a glorious time of 6 minutes and 47 seconds!!

There are all sorts of reasons to love Paper Pumpkin this season and one is the coordination between the October and November kits to help you along with your Holiday preparations! And they are drop dead gorgeous projects. You got cards with October's kit and gift tags are coming in November! They'll look great on those special gift packages under the tree! If you haven't yet subscribed, do so by Nov. 10th to get in on it. If you have, but need to opt back in, again do so by Nov. 10th. Otherwise, sit back and wait for a wonderful kit delivered around Nov. 15th.

  1. Nice use of the Feels Like Frost DSP. It's so lovely on it's own that it's easy to forget is makes a lovely background too.

  3. Great choice of background paper Heather - the fronds of the pine add a great sense of movement with your jumping deer. A great card in under 7 minutes too!

  4. Thanks, Joanne! They do look like motion lines don't they! Like jumping into warp speed on Star Wars! lol

  5. You definitely nailed it Heather AND made me laugh with your staring down fear comedy routine! I love your dynamic card and agree with Joanne that the designer paper is the perfect background for your leaping reindeer. The sentiment emphasises the movement too and I love that you just added a sprinkling of glittery dots for that frosty feel.
PS. Have just read your reply to Joanne and you've made me laugh again at the idea of the reindeer jumping into Warp Speed! I would wish you a happy day, but it seems to me you're already having a great time! Vicky x
