Sailing Home into A World of Good for Father's Day

If you could see me now, you'd see that I have my lower lip pushed out into a definite pout and my eyes would make a sad puppy look happy! UPS has failed me again and my new Annual Catalogue order, which was placed June 3, was still not delivered on Friday! So what I hoped would be a weekend full of fun, playing with all my new catalogue goodies was instead filled with cleaning my craft room, accounting and cutting card packs for classes! Not at all the fun that I had envisioned! As well, all the great new masculine stamp sets I had ordered to use for some Father's Day cards were not available to me, so I had to rely on some oldies but goodies, with some new DSP to make them different!

I thought that World of Good Designer Series Paper would work well with the Sailing Home stamp set and Smooth Sailing Dies, so I put my design mind to work and came up with this card:

  • I wanted to make my palette Misty Moonlight, Brass, Crumb Cake and Bumblebee, but alas, my new In Colour stamp pads are also in that undelivered order that I'm still waiting for, so I had to stamp in Night of Navy instead of Misty Moonlight.
  • I used several patterns of the World of Good DSP in this card design, a couple of which I stamped right on: the Bumblebee pattern, on which I stamped the sentiment, and the Crumb Cake script design, on which I stamped the lighthouse and birds in Night of Navy ink.
  • I also used some In Good Taste DSP to get a wood pattern on which to stamp the anchor, using some StazOn ink, and then die cut it using the coordinating Smooth Sailing die.
  • I was excited to try out the new Brass Foil Sheets, and used them to die cut the ship's wheel with the Smooth Sailing Dies and the backing label for the sentiment, from Well Said stamp set, using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The Brass foil has a definite warmer tone to it than the gold foil.

I have some important questions to ask you. Do you love all the new products in the Annual Catalogue as much as I do? Do you feel like you need to take out a second mortgage to get all the products that you really want? Would you like to join a community of people who love to stamp and share crafting ideas? Would you like to get a look at the new Aug./Dec. Mini Catalogue a whole month before the public gets to? Would you like to learn how to set up your own blog? Would you like to get $165 worth of any current Stampin' Up! products of your choice PLUS one free Stamp Set/Tool bundle free for only $135 with no shipping charge, then have a minimum of 4 months where you could enjoy a 20% discount?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to join Stampin' Up! and purchase the Starter Kit during the month of June!
