The New Catalogue Is Open For Business at Eleven AM So Celebrate Sunflowers

Today, I have a card to share with you featuring the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set, but before that you will want to know why we're celebrating:

The Stampin' Up! 2020/2021 Annual Catalogue is open for business today starting at 11:00 am PDT! Are you as excited as I am? My wish list is as long as my arm and it's going to take a while to get everything I want on it!! What's first on your list? If you don't have your hard copy of the new catalogue yet, I can now share the link for the PDF copy for you to download:

There are so many great things to be aware of in the catalogue, but I'll just share a quick overview with you by Sara and Shelley: the former is CEO, and the latter is Founder of Stampin' Up!:

I hope that whets your appetite! The card I'm showing you today is made with a stamp set from the first suite they showed you on the video: Celebrate Sunflowers! I made it for the birthday of someone who loves to garden, hence the little boots as well. There were actually 4 stamp sets put to use with this card but I absolutely love how it turned out:

  • I stamped the sunflower heads with Memento ink on Whisper White cardstock and coloured them in using the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Combo, the Old Olive Stampin' Blends Combo and for the center, I used the Bronze Stampin' Blends and the light Soft Suede Stampin' Blends. I actually stamped and coloured 4 sunflower heads.
  • There is a die to die cut the sunflowers, but I wanted them cut a little closer to the stamped line, so I fussy cut them. It wasn't that difficult. The fourth one, I fussy cut, but cut the leaves off and cut through and around the center, so that there was only the petals left. I cut around some petals almost right to the center so that I could curl them up separate from the others.
  • I attached the circle of petals exactly above the corresponding petals of the third sunflower head using Glue Dots and curved up the petals using the bone folder.
  • The Daisy Lane stamp set provided the stems which I stamped right on the Designer Series Paper, which comes from the In Good Taste series, meant to look like the garden fence. Then I attached the first and third flower heads with Glue Dots and the second sunflower with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • The boots are from the Under My Umbrella stamp set, stamped in Memento ink and coloured in with the Old Olive Stampin' Blends Combo.
  • The fourth stamp set used was Butterfly Wishes and I got the sentiment and the butterfly from it. The sentiment was punched out with the Lovely Label Pick a Punch, as was the Bumble Bee backing for it.
  • The final touch was the Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon, tied in a double finger bow here.
I will be putting an order in today or tomorrow, so let me know if you would like me to order something for you!
