Whale Done for As You See It Challenges

I really can't believe it's time for another As You See It Challenge today. And this time it's a recipe challenge concocted by Design Team member, Amy! Here are all the elements in the recipe:

I had thought about going gingham and flowery with the paper scraps and repeat images, which seemed to go along well with the pink colour in the recipe, but as I was looking over my new stamp sets, my eye fell on the Whale Done stamp set with it's Jellyfish image and I immediately thought, "Jellyfish would look great as repeat images done in shades of pink!" Then, my new Rainbow Glimmer Paper caught my eye and I envisioned using scraps of that to go along with my shimmery looking jellyfish and my vision came together. Here it is:

  • On a Pool Party base, I added a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock that I embossed with the very intricate Seabed 3D Embossing Folder. This one is so cool because different elements are embossed at different depths, giving it a true 3D appearance, and they're all undersea images.
  • I took a 2" strip of Whisper White and sponged it with Coastal Cabana, Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam Ink. Then, using the Hinge Technique with the Stamparatus, I stamped several images of the jellyfish from the Whale Done stamp set. Each one was stamped in a different shade of pink/purple starting from Blushing Bride to Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Magenta Madness and Gorgeous Grape. I added this panel to the front of the Soft Sea Foam panel.
  • I had a 1/2" strip of Rainbow Glimmer paper that I cut into two 5 1/4" lengths to use for my paper scraps. I tried my new Stampin' Seal+ adhesive to see how well it would work on the glimmer paper and it seems to be holding really well.
  • I needed a one word sentiment and the closest I had in the Whale Done stamp set was Thanks a ton, so I masked the "a ton" in tape, inked up the thanks in Magenta Madness, removed the tape and stamped the one word, Thanks, on to a 1/2" wide strip of Whisper White. I then trimmed and flagged the end and mounted it on the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • The last element I needed was a bow. The Whale of a Time Suite has some beautiful ribbon to go with it that I wanted to try:  the Pool Party 3/8" Sheer Ribbon. It's sheer and shimmery and really easy to work with. I added the bow to the top left to balance the sentiment in the bottom right, but I think it might look really good with the sentiment as well.

You have only 10 days left to take advantage of my Suite Shares! They will only be available until the end of June. With Suite Shares, I offer you a half share of all the paper, ribbon and embellishments that are part of one particular suite in the new 2020/2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. That way you get enough to work with, all the products coordinate, you only choose the suites you really like and you have the option of adding the stamp set and tool bundle to your share and earning a special treat from me, if you do. The shares themselves are very affordable, so you can afford to do more than one if you would like to.
