Punch Art for My Youngest Granddaughter - Power Ponies

 

June! Birthday month in my household again! We start it off with my youngest sister's birthday, and then I have three of my grandkids with June birthdays! The first one is my youngest granddaughter, Pippa, who is turning five this year and gets to start kindergarten in the fall! She is so excited about that. She is also a big fan of My Little Ponies, and lately the newest version, Power Ponies. Through it all, though, she remains steadfastly devoted to Rainbow Dash, so I attempted a Punch Art likeness of Rainbow Dash as a Power Pony. First, you'd better look at what I was trying to achieve:

Now here's what I was able to achieve with punches and a couple of dies:

• I'll just list the punches I used. See if you can guess what I used them for: (*some are long retired, but I keep them just for this purpose) *Owl Builder Punch, *Fox Builder Punch, *Bow Builder Punch, Tulip Builder Punch, *Leaf Punch, *Word Window Punch, Whale Builder Punch, Detailed Trio Punch, Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch, and Delightful Tag Topper Punch.
• For the lightning bolts and the white hoof ornaments I used the Peony Dies with one of the leaf overlays and the flower center.
• For cardstock I used Balmy Blue for the body and wings and Night of Navy and white for the suit. The eyes were black, white and Gorgeous Grape. The mane and tail were Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape.
• The background DSP is from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper and the card base is Poppy Parade cardstock.
• The sentiment, from A Grand Kid stamp set, is stamped in Poppy Parade ink and hand trimmed. The 5 is die cut using the Playful Alphabet dies.
