I received shipment of all the available kits of Stampin' Up!'s kit collection a few days ago and I worked with a couple of them to make cards for my team after our team meeting on Wednesday. Stampin' Up! has two different types of kits in the collection - kits that require stamping and kits that do not. I wanted to try one of the kits that needed some stamping, so I chose the Sentimental Rose Card Kit.
When you open a kit like this, you get a stamp set, a D sized clear block and an ink spot in the colour you will use for the images and sentiments. For this kit, it was Gray Granite. You also get full colour instructions, card bases, envelopes and all the labels, die cuts and embellishments you need, plus adhesives. Here's how the cards turned out:
- The stamps for this set have distINKtive qualities that give them a realistic look. Very beautiful.
- The layers have beautiful watercolour background over which you can stamp.
- The backings for the sentiments are corrugated, adding an attractive bit of texture.
- Enamel dots in the kit colours provide lovely embellishment.
I mostly followed the kit instructions, except for the sentiments, as I wanted to use them for specific occasions for my team, so I changed some of them a bit.
The Kit Collection is meant for you to go to, pick a kit that you like out of what is available at the time and get together with family or friends who have done the same thing and just craft together. No need for everyone to pick the same kit as the instructions are not too difficult. The price point is very affordable and you are not locked into a subscription. You can do this whenever you want.
If you are short on space, time or money, then the Stampin' Up! Kits Collection is your solution to having a little creative time to yourself! To check out the available kits right now, see the collection in my Online Store.
Tomorrow in my Monday Morning Facebook Live at 11 AM on my Playing with Papercrafting Facebook Page, I will be demonstrating another kit, this one a non-stamping kit. I will post the YouTube replay here.
