Rogues Gallery of Retiring Products

As you know, I am holidaying up in northern BC with my middle daughter, Kristen and her family. We came up to celebrate my only granddaughter's First Birthday!  This is the little lady here, bedecked in dandelions as could only be expected for the daughter of my dandelion loving offspring! (See this post.)

And here she is again! Quite a contrast as she sheds the niceties and digs into her birthday chocolate cake with gusto!

Since I have no access to my new catalogue pre-order goodies, I am concentrating on sharing some of the retiring products from the 2014 - 15 Annual Catalogue as a public service, to make sure you don't miss out on something that you really wanted, but hadn't had an opportunity to order yet. I searched my archives to show you some of the retiring stamp sets and some of my best designs using them. The name of each stamp set has the link you can click on to take you to the original post.

Without further ado, here is the rogue's gallery for five of the retiring stamp sets:

An Autumn Card for The Paper Players

I was excited to see that The Paper Players had a Fall Theme this week.  I love the warm and vibrant colours of autumn and the textures.  My youngest daughter, Jaimie, loves the fall months as well, especially October, her birthday month.  I wanted to share with you a little about her talents with watercolour and script that she is displaying and selling on Etsy.

Here is her latest print:

Fall Art Printable/ Autumn Printable/ Autumn Decor/ Instant Download

If you are interested in her work, here is her Etsy store, HoneyBee Paperie.

Here is The Paper Players' Challenge #212:

I used a fall palette from the Designer Series Paper I used on this card, Colour Me Autumn.  The layout I chose was from a Mojo Monday sketch from away back:

And here is another look at my design:

  • This is such an interesting layout to work with.  I had a lot of fun with all the different layers.  I used this layout way back in September 2012 and I updated it with fresh colours and images. It is one of my all-time favourites.
  • I used lots of different stamp sets for this card:  Truly Grateful, Trust God, Kinda Eclectic and Apothecary Art.  See if you can tell me which image belongs to which set in the comments below.  No fair looking in the catalogue!
  • I really like the look of excess embossing powder on the edges of an embossed panel.  After stamping the leaf image in VersaMark, I also added a little VersaMark around the edges of the 2 1/2" circle.  I added Gold Stampin' Emboss powder and heat set the whole thing with my Heat Tool.
  • The Burlap Ribbon is a great accent for a fall card.  It reminds me of Potato Sacks that we used to use for Sack Races!  Super texture!
Thanks for stopping by today.  Stay tuned tomorrow for another As You See It Challenge!
